Fasting & Abstinence During Lent
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday (April 7th) are days of universal fasting and abstinence in the Church.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until the age of 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.
The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14. (Those with medical conditions that do not permit fasting are not bound to fast, but a person should try to abstain from meat if possible.) Taken from the USCCB website.

33 DAYS TO GREATER GLORY: This Lent we will complete the trilogy of consecrations we began with 33 Days to Morning Glory. This Lenten season, we will reflect on God the Father leading to our consecration to our Heavenly Father. This begins on Tuesday, February 28th and meets on successive Tuesdays concluding on April 4th. All meetings will be held at 7 pm in the Fr. Sullivan meeting room. To participate you will need to purchase a copy of Fr. Michael Gaitley’s book 33 Days to Greater Glory. This book can be purchased through the bookstore at the Shrine of Divine Mercy. Note there is no retreat guide with this segment. Please contact the office to register.
